After the trials of WWII, Louise and Howard returned to Calif. settling in San Diego in 1949.
Louise entered the surging post-war fashion industry as a model and Howard went back to college to study Mortuary Science. When Becky (Douthit) was born in 1953 they were overjoyed. In 1955 they moved to Whittier where Howard had been recruited to help establish Rose Hills Mortuary. Lisa (Marin) was born the following year, completing the Coffey family. Louise and Howard loved Whittier and became very active in the community. Louise spent many years working with Girl Scouts, Family Service, and PTA while the girls were in school. Louise entered Real Estate in 1973 opening a new chapter and many more friendships. She loved it so much she didn't retire until she was 84!
