David was 1970 graduate Lee Edwards High School.
He was a first round draft pick for the NY Yankee's organization in 1970 where he played several years then ended his career with the Atlanta Brave's organization.
After baseball David went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara M. Cheadle.
Surviving are his daughters Hannah M. Cheadle, Amanda L. Cheadle and wife, Lynne P. Cheadle.He is also survived by his father, David B. Cheadle Sr.; brothers, John Cheadle, Matt Cheadle and wife, Kim, Danny Cheadle and wife, Julie; step-mother, Mary Alice K. Cheadle; step-brothers, Doug Renaker, Dwayne Renaker and wife, Gillian and step-sister, Leslie Tritle and husband, Scott. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday. March 3, 2012 at Crossroads Assembly of God, 20 S. Bearcreek Rd, Asheville at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in honor of David B. Cheadle Jr. to the following for their help and support they gave him in the last year: Baseball Assistance Team, Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Fla, and Good News Church also in St. Augustine, Fla.

*American professional baseball player. A 6 ft 2 in (1.88 m), 203 lb (92 kg) left-handed pitcher, he appeared in two Major League games pitched for the 1973 Atlanta Braves.
