COLBY Services for Rudolph A. Schoelzel Sr., 85, Route 2, Colby, who died Monday in Burlington while visiting there, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Church of Christ, Colby. The Rev. Kenneth A. Dix will officiate. Pallbearers will be DuWayne Scheets, Ronald Jr., David and Robert Schoelzel, Steven Goetz and Scott Hudak. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Rux Funeral Home, Colby. Mr. Schoelzel was born March 27, 1900 in Colby, to Mr. and Mrs. August Schoelzel. He married Olivia Guttenburger Nov. 5, 1924 in Colby. She died March 4, 1969. He farmed in the Town of Colby until 1963, when he retired and moved to the Town of Hull. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, and served on the Cloverdale School Board for many years. Surviving are nine sons, Rudolph Jr., Burlington, Gerold, Cassville, Mo., Lyle, Darnell, and Ronald, all of Colby, Glen, Shiocton, James, Rainier, Wash.,, Arlyn, Nashville, Tenn., and Dennis, Zephyrhills, Fla.; 10 daughters, Mrs. Darlene Wachtendonk, Stevens Point, Mrs. Albert (Doris) Chamberlain, Balsam Lake, Mrs. Betrice Christian-son, Wausau, Mrs. Eugene (lone) Pipkorn, Sheldon, Mrs. Ray (Emarita) Phillips, Blooming Prairie, Minn., Mrs. Ralph (Audris) Goetz and Mrs. Wayne (Patricia) Seefeld, both of Spencer, Mrs.- James (Sandra) Hudak, Marshfield, Colleen Schoelzel, Fargo, N.D., and Mrs. John (Korliss) Uhlig, Colby; 69 grandchildren; 46 greatgrandchildren and two sisters, Helen Meyers, Curtiss, and Ella Leonhard, Lake Geneva. He was predeceased by his parents, two sons, two granddaughters and two sisters.
