WILLARD, UTAH - Cora Elizabeth Bower Vavricka, 80, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998. She was born on April 11, 1918, in Chesterfield, Idaho, the daughter of George William and Clara Malissa Campbell Bower. She was the third of seven children.

Cora married Ralph Albert Vavricka on August 1, 1946, in Chesterfield, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in stake and ward positions with the Young Women. She had taught Gospel Doctrine and was currently serving as Relief Society President of Willard First Ward.

Cora was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, and was active with Farm Bureau Women's Organization.

She began her teaching career over 50 years in Idaho. She taught in Brigham City at the Central School from 1958 to 1983 and at Lake View School from 1983 to 1996 when she retired.

Cora is survived by her husband Willard; two sons and one daughter: Donald L. and Karen Vavricka San Angelo, TX; William R. and Heidi Vavricka, Bountiful, UT; Rose Marie and Clyde Morrell, Orem, UT; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Blanche Christensen, Menan, ID and Wilma Cornia, Evanston, WY. She is preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 7, at 11 am in the Willard First LDS Ward Chapel, arrangements by Petersons Funeral Chapel, Brigham City. interment is in the Willard Cemetery.
