Mr. Ross was employed at Brown Rubber Co. from 1934 until 1959, where he was a foreman. In 1960, he took a position with Lafayette Farm Bureau Co-op Seed and Hatchery Department for Indiana Farm Bureau. A member of the National Guard in 1939, he served in the European Theatre during World War II. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, Masonic Temple of Battle Ground, American Legion Post 11, and Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis. He had moved to Florida in March, 1979, after retiring, returning to Lafayette in February.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, J. Michael Ross of Rochester Hills, MI, and Marc A. Ross, stationed with the U.S. Naval Security Group Activity in Naples, Italy; six sisters, Marjorie Knowles, Shirley Klooz, Beverly Cooper, all of Lafayette, Bertha "B.B." Sanders of West Lafayette, Mary (Mrs. Bob) Westfall, and Opal (Mrs. Forrest) Wolferd, both of San Antonio, TX; and five grandchildren.
