Visitation will be Wednesday, June 14, 10-11 a.m. at Spry Serenity Chapel, Florence. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Father Patrick J. Tierney, of Our Lady of the Shoals Catholic Church, officiating. There will be a graveside committal service with Masonic rites at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Masons will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Humphres was of the Baptist faith, retired from BellSouth with more than 28 years of service, member of Masonic Lodge 503 and VFW Post 4919 for more than 50 years and a member of Telephone Pioneers for 32 years.
Survivors include wife, Theresa Humphres; daughters, Judy Conaway, Mary Sue Womble, Theresa Ann Cook and husband, Michael, Cathy Smith and husband, Richard, Nina Humphres; brothers, Chester Humphres and wife, Eloise, Roy Humphres and wife, Omalee, R.C. Humphres and wife, Faye, Wendell Humphres and wife, Polly; sisters, Imogene McClain, Esterine Blackburn and husband, R.C.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
