Pickenpaugh, Douglas Giffen "Doug", 90 of Barnesville, Ohio formerly of Reservoir Rd., St. Clairsville died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Wheeling Hospital.

He was born October 3, 1921 in Wayne County, Ohio, a son of the late Denver Sutton Pickenpaugh and Edith Giffen Pickenpaugh.

Doug was a retired machinist from Consolidation Coal Company's Franklin Mine, a lifelong member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville, a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, and a member of the UMWA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Hornberger; brothers, Robert, William, Kelly, and Keith Pickenpaugh.

Surviving are his loving wife of 72 years, Betty June Brown Pickenpaugh; two daughters, Nancy Clark of Martins Ferry, and Elizabeth Hurwitz of San Diego, CA.; three sons, Richard (Sherry) Pickenpaugh of Powhatan, VA., Thomas Edward Pickenpaugh of Rockville, MD., and Jeffery Pickenpaugh of Woodsfield; a brother, Denver "John" Pickenpaugh of Belmont; 18 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and his faithful companion, Trixie.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday [March 7, 2012] from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Thursday [March 8, 2012] at 11 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Ickes officiating.

Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
