Mrs. Myrtle (Colflesh) Gower, aged 55 years, died at her home in Harnedsville Monday morning, March 26. She was born March 13, 1890, a daughter of John F. and Sarah Jane (Younkin) Colflesh, of Lower Turkeyfoot Twp. Surviving are her husband, Jacob Gower, and children--Pfc. Clyde Gower, with the armed forces in Europe; Elsie, Paul and Dale, at home and these sisters and brothers: Mrs. Mary Shilling of Flint, Mich., Mrs. F. E. Wirsing, Harnedsville; Mrs. Stewart McClintock, Mrs. John Rodahaver, Millie Colflesh, Russell and Milton Colflesh, Harnedsville, Dr. J. H. Colflesh, Somerset. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, in the M. E. Church of Harnedsville, conducted by the pastor, Rev. James Bird. Burial was under the direction of C. B. Humbert in the Paddytown cemetery. Mrs. Gower was a kind and loving wife, mother and neighbor, never too busy with her own affairs to help any one in need or distress. She was an active member of the Methodist church for many years and will long be sadly missed in her home, the church and community.
