F.A. (Peck) Barnes, 91, of the Cyruston Community, died Wednesday in Lincoln Regional Hospital after a long illness.

The funeral was Friday in Higgin Funeral Home with Eugene Peden officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late A.M. and Frances Ann McDaniel Barnes. Mr. Barnes was a retired dairy farmer, a veteran of the U.S.Navy serving in World War I, was a magistrate of Lincoln County for 25 years, a charter member of the Lincoln County Fair Association, a charter member of American Legion Post 42, a member of the American Jersey Cattle Club, Tennessee Jersey Cattle Club was recipient of the 4-H Adult Leader Award and was a nenber of Cyruston Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Zela Swinford Barnes of Cyruston; a daughter Nancy Jean Barnes Patterson; a brother John M. Barnes; a sister Catherine Flynn; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
