Mrs. Kate R. Archey, widow of Thomas F. Archey, and a well-known resident of Huntingdon, passed away at the Rupert home, 517 Church Street, at four o'clock this Friday morning, May 12, 1939.
She was born in Smyrna, Delaware on November 15, 1852 and was the daughter of Gideon Rothwell and Catherine (Collins) Rothwell, both deceased. At the time of death she was aged 85 years, 5 months and 29 days.
Mrs. Archey was a devout member of the First Presbyterian church in Huntingdon and was a member of the American Leion Auxiliary.
She had been a resident of Huntingdon during the past forty-five years and was well-known here. She had a large circle of friends who were shocked to learn of her passing.
Surviving to mourn her passing are one son, Buell R. Archey, of Huntingdon, and three sisters: Mrs. W. E. Kough, of Carlisle, Mrs. Mary R. Gayton, of Ocean Grove, N.J., and Mrs. Lillie R. Shaver, of St. Petersburg, Florida.
Funeral services will be held at Dick's funeral home Tuesday afternoon, May 16, at 2:30 o'clock and interment will be made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Mount Union.
Friends may call at Dick's funeral home any time after one o'clock Saturday afternoon until the hour of the services.
