Mr. Hoffman, 77, died May 9, 2001, at his residence in Security after a long battle with cancer. He was retired from the Army, serving 25 years with the Army Airborne Corps 517, 82 and 101st.
Mr. Hoffman was born July 5, 1923, in Denver, to Robert W. and Frances (Rumley) Hoffman, who are deceased. He was married Nov. 14, 1945, to Ethel J. Slate.
Mr. Hoffman is survived by his wife; two sons, Kenneth D. and Jerry R.; two daughters, Beverly A. Kowalewski and Katherine G. Baxter; a brother, Charles; two sisters, Ida Reffel and Vivian Whittier; brother-in-law, Pat Whittier; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Dove-Witt Fountain Valley Chapel, 6630 S. Highway 85/87, Fountain. Services will be at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Dove-Witt Fountain Valley Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road.
