Orson M. Blystone, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Blystone, was born in Crawford County, PA, July 19th, 1860, and passed to his reward Wednesday, August 15th, 1923, at his home in Sheridan township, being 63 years and 27 days of age at the time of his demise. He came with his parents to Michigan in the year 1867, settling on a new farm in Montcalm County. He was united in marriage to Effie Kniffen August 17th, 1887. To this union were born four children, Aura Carncross, of Sheridan Township; Glenn O. and Judd F., at home and one that died in infancy. Besides the wife and three children he is survived by three brothers and two sisters, F. N., of Ionia; Clara Elliott, of Verdon, South Dakota; May Fea, of Alma; Grant, of Greenville; and Roy, of Detroit, together with seven grandchildren. Mr. Blystone was an earnest Christian and an ardent worker of the church. During his residence in Sheridan he served as township and school officer for many terms. Interment made in Cherry Grove cemetery. Those who attended the funeral from out of town were, P. L. Blystone, of Cambridge Springs, PA; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kniffen and daughter, Elda, of Sidney; Judge Kniffen and son, of Stanton; Fred Kniffen, of Lansing; Oscar Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Smith and Howard Smith, of Grand Ledge; and Clyde Smith, of Lansing.
