Mrs. Lanier, 85, of Alexandria died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday in Wilshire Manor Nursing Home.
She was a foster grandparent for 13 years. She was a member of the Pentecostals of Alexandria and a native of Hicks.
Survivors include one son, Morris W. Lanier of Sulphur; eight daughters, Allie M. Brucoe and Norlean McFarland, both of Alexandria, Melba Dean Gresham of El Dorado, Ark., Melba Lean Deason of Hicks, Betty Lewis of Ball, Johnnie Sanders of Libuse, Annette Chelette of Rosepine and Janice Brown of Beaumont, Texas; one brother, L.W. Smith of Lacamp; two sisters, Ann Trotti of Hicks and Beuna Kolanski of Galveston, Texas; 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. today in the church.
