LEWISTOWN - Glen M. Criswell, 90, a resident of the Brookline Manor, Mifflintown, and formerly of 818 W. Fifth St., Lewistown, died at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at the manor.

Born April 12, 1919, in Yeagertown, he was the son of the late Marshall and Harriet (Beaver) Criswell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann E. (Nicholson) Criswell, who died on March 5, 1998.

He is survived by his sons, John M. Criswell and his wife Marilee, of Beaver and Michael J. Criswell and his wife Kathy, of Lewistown; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, William, Kenneth, Vernon, Harold and Gerald Criswell; and his sisters, Edith Pierce, Miriam Boone, Phyllis Berrier and Lois Walters.

He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army having served during World War II in the European Theatre.

He was employed as a delivery person at Agway Petroleum in Lewistown, retiring in 1981.

He was a member of the Yeagertown United Methodist Church.

Glen loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and golfing. He spent summers in a camp he built with his wife in the mountains of Decatur Township.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., with the Rev. Thomas Morningstar officiating. Private interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
