Grace E. Shomo, 84, a resident of Valley View Home, Altoona, formerly of Hollentown, died Thursday at the home.

She was born in Coalport, daughter of the late George and Vida (Brown) Beers. She married Donald C. Shomo on Nov. 2, 1946, in Hollentown, and he died April 25, 2003.

Surviving are six children: Larry D. of Dysart, Phyllis J. Hescox of Roaring Spring, Linda D. Nardelli of Coalport, Lora L. Weakland of Bedford and Bob C. and Rusty W. of Blandburg; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Norma Helsel and Pat Skebeck, both of Coalport.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry; two brothers: Bud and William; and four sisters: Mabel Klenak, Lela Gallaher, Betty Hamilton and Louise Beers.

Grace was a member of Hollentown Assembly of God.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012, at McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow, and noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service Monday, March 5, 2012, at Hollentown Assembly of God, Pastor Joe Hollen officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.
