John Catlet (ye younger) was born 1596/1599 at Sittingbourne in County Kent England. His parents were John Catlet, Gent.,JR. (ye elder) and his first wife, Elizabeth (Fauncis) Catlet.

On 10-Apr-1623 John's licence to marry Sarah Hawkins was issued in Preston near Faversham, County Kent, Eng.

Their first child, Ralph Catlett, was baptized on 31-Mar-1624, and was buried on 10-Jan-1625, in County Kent, England.

The Catlet's were of the English landed gentry. John's will--Consistory Court of Canterbury; will register deposited at the Kent Archives Office, Maidstone. Ref. PRC32/46 Folio 273d. John named his brothers, sisters, and their offspring in his will. His wife Sara was named executrix. He suspected that his wife might be pregnant, so he provided also for his unborn child. John [iv] was born about 5 months after his father's death--as proved by parish baptismal record. John [iv] was their "second child."

John's will was probated on 13-Oct-1625.
