Mary Horn
Mary Heindeman was born in Germany September 22, 1836, and died in Glasco, Kansas, November 10, 1924, aged 88 years, 1 mo. and 18 days.
At the age of six years she came with her parents to America, and settled in Illinois. Here she grew to womanhood and was married to Fred Horn March 22, 1857. In July of 1880, Mr. and Mrs. Horn came to Kansas and settled on a farm northwest of Glasco. Mr. Horn died January 4, 1889, and in 1906 Mrs. Horn moved to town.
Mrs. Horn joined the Lutheran church with her husband, she having been raised in the Catholic church.
There were eight children born to Mr. and Mrs. Horn, three of whom preceded the mother in death. They are: Henry, deceased February 17, 1902; Lewis, deceased March 17, 1915; and Mary who died at the age of 16 in Illinois. There are living: Mrs. Dorothea Libben of Glasco, Mr. Chas. Horn of Bennington, Mr. Rudolph Horn of Oregon, Mr. Fred Horn of Simpson, and Miss Annie Horn of Glasco.
Besides there there are 31 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, with many other relatives and friends who will mourn her departure, but they do not mourn as those who have no hope.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the M.E. church conducted by Rev. W.W. Enyeart. Interment was made in Glasco cemetery.
