Catherine J. Schneider, 99
Catherine J. Schneider, 99, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, with the Rev. Walter Behrens officiating. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 24.
Catherine Paasch Schneider was born Jan. 24, 1902, near Scribner to William and Johanna (Glisman) Paasch.
At the age of two, Catherine, and her only sister, Margaret, were raised by their grandparents after the sudden death of their mother.
She attended rural District No. 38 school, and was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church near Scribner.
She and her sister came to Washington County to work in farm homes, where she met and married Carl Schneider on March 2, 1921, in Fremont.
The couple farmed in Washington County area for many years, before moving to Kennard in the 1940's.
In 1990, the couple moved to the Rustic Oaks Apartments in Blair, and here they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
