Martha Elizabeth Waters
Martha Elizabeth Gilchrist was born on June 27, 1893, at Ryan, Iowa, the youngest child of Henry and Susan Gilchrist. She spent her girlhood life at Ryan.
She was married to Harry A. Waters on May 2, 1917, and to this union were born two sons, Edgar Leslie, on August 3, 1918 and Willard Alvin, on November 5, 1919.
In her childhood she joined the Methodist church at Ryan, and later transferred her membership to the Baptist church in Central City.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her husband and two sons, and by four half-brothers: Albert Gilchrist of Central Cithy; Walter of Worthington; Robert Stripes of Ryan, and Wilbur Stripes of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Her death occurred on July 26, 1927, aged 34 years and 29 days.
Funeral services were held in the Central City Baptist church on July 27th, Rev. Sires, pastor of the Central City Methodist church, officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
