He was one of the Utah Pioneers in 1848. He was born in Norway on June 23, 1802 and came to this country and finally settled in Woods Cross, Utah where he died June 22, 1876. His original Norwegian name was Eric Goudyson (Gautesen Midboen) Hogan (Haugen). He had four wives. Kari Sondresson, Helga Knudsen, Hannah Nilson, Ingeborg Jensen. Only two of his wives had children, Helga and Hannah. He had a total of twenty children.
