The homestead 153 acres of land in Waidsboro Kentucky in 1831, he came with his family to Old Lewisburg Arkansas in 1860 by via the rivers. He owned 155 acres of land 8 miles east of Conway in Faulkner County, where he lived with his family until his death about 1873 Sept. 20. He gave the plot of ground for the Old Liberty Church & Cemetery. He is buried in New Liberty Cemetery beside his wife, Nancy. Mr. Watson bought the land from a man named Wilson. Mr. Watson was of English descent with some Indian blood. Mr. Watson built a better log cabin house out of cypress logs given to him by a widow Art or Ark at Art's Pond in the year 1860-61. He cut & hauled them to his home 8 miles east of Conway. Henry Watson then about 4 or 5 years old and a brother walked from home down to Ark Pond where Mr. Watson was working and took their lunch to them. Ark Pond was 4 or 5 miles away. In 1863 some northern soldiers, sick with measles, stopped at Mr. Watson's & stayed several days till they got well. They made beds down on the floor of the big living room which was about 20 by 22 feet. When they left they took Ma Watson's wagon & team of mules; but told him he could get them back by coming to Lewisburg after them where they went on via the river. He went there & brought them back. Abraham came from KY after believing he accidentally killed his brother in a fist fight. Abraham was a medical doctor. He left in a great hurry and left property in KY. Some think it was in Lexington. The brother was injured but survived. They came via the Arkansas river and settled in Liberty (outside Conway) about 30 mi. from the river. For several years, Abraham continued to send money to a relative to pay taxes on this real estate, only to learn later that the relative never paid the taxes and the land was lost, sold for back taxes. Lilly was his granddaughter in-law. She reported this information to her daughter, Hazel May.

His son and daughter homesteaded land which his son Byron Augustus Watson lived on with his family until some time in the 1930's when Byron moved his family to England, Arkansas. Byron later moved back to the homestead land in the 1960's along with his son, Vollie.
