Denver Armistead of Covington, GA died Friday January 1, 2010 at Newton Medical Center. She was born on October 23, 1921 in Floyd Co. Ga to Earve P. and Fannie Ivey Gwin. She was an avid reader, enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and spending time with her family.
Mrs . Armistead is survived by daughters Diane Harper, Davilyn Gunnells, Kathy Armistead , all of Covington, Ga; grandchildren Shelley Magruder, Amy Hanson, Stephenie Coleman; 7 great grandchildren; sisters Margaret Giles, Charlotte Dial, Jewell Armistead, and JoAnn Gwin; sister-in-law Snookie Gwin. She is preceded in death by Husband Tommy Junior Armistead , father Earve P. Gwin, mother Fannie Ivey Gwin, brothers Frank Gwin, Stewart Gwin, and Sonny Gwin.
Services will be held on January 4, 2010 at Wheeler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Royese Stowe officiating. Interment will be at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
