Blanche E. Phillips, 96, formerly of Aleppo Twp. Greene County, PA. died 7:37 am Monday, February 27, 2012 in Washington County Health Center, Washington, PA. She had been in failing health for the past several years and seriously ill for the past 2 weeks.

She was born November 11, 1915 in Richhhill Twp., (Ryerson) Greene County, PA., a daughter of the late Issac Edward and Sarah Jane Llyons McCracken.

Mrs. Phillips had resided in Aleppo Twp.from 1978 until moving to Washington in 2005 where she and her late husband shared a home with her daughters.

She was a former member of the Crabapple Community Church where she was the pianist and soloist for several years and later attended the Trinity Bible Fellowship Church in Washington.

Mrs. Phillips enjoyed her time with her family and grandchildren, reading her Bible, cooking and canning as long as her health permitted.

On April 22, 1939 she married Floyd Sterling Phillips who died June 5, 2008.

Surviving are her children, Sara Lee, wife of Willard Mallery of Palm Bay, FL., Nancy Jean Barlow and Dorothy Louise Phillips, both of Washington and with whom she shared a home since 2005, Roger S., husband of Mary Phillips of Eglin, OK., and Richard, husband of Laurae Headley of Great Falls, Montana; a sister, Ruth Sturdivent of Lexington, KY; 17 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a son, Edward Phillips who died November 27, 1979; four sisters, Helen Knight and Bessie McCracken, Louise and Nelle Goodwin; seven brothers, Arthur, Frank, Mont, Perry, Hobert, Edward and Donald McCracken.

Friends were received on Friday from 5-9 pm at Rush Funeral Home, Inc., Rogersville,PA. Services were held at 11 am Saturday, March 3, 2012 with Rev. Michael Roach and Rev. Joe DiDonita officiating.
