He was born November 13, 1921, in Cleveland, Utah, to William Peace and Grace Elizabeth Cox Stokes. He married Marjorie Morris, August 22, 1944, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Mapleton; two sons and two daughters, David Grant Stokes, Pleasant grove; Mrs. Mac (Janice) Macdonald, Seattle, Washington; Mrs. Blaine (Alicia) Hone, Mapleton; Ken Stokes, Las Vegas, Nevada; seven grandchildren; two sisters and one brother, Dr. William Lee Stokes, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Maurice (Marion) Jensen, Huntington; Mrs. Dewey (Ruth) Zubeck, Orem.
Burial was March 5, 1992.
