Paul Kamery, 88, of Minden, formerly of Sargent, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, in Minden. Paul was born June 20, 1923, in Loup County near Sargent to Howard Benjamin and Julia Agnes (Fahey) Kamery.

On June 22, 1971, he married Jeanette Gruber in Taylor.

Paul was born in a sod house near Sargent. He grew up in that area. Paul and Jeanette lived in the Sargent area where Paul worked on cattle and horse ranches. He was an animal lover and enjoyed coyote dogs, horses and mules. He spent many hours breaking horses to ride and mules to drive.

In 1976, they moved to Trenton where they owned a grocery store until retirement in 1986. They then returned to the hills of Sargent.

Paul was always a family man who thoroughly loved being around his children and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In October 2011, Paul and Jeanette moved to Minden to be with family and enjoyed seeing them daily.

Paul was preceded in death by: brothers, Bo and Milford Kamery; sisters, Agnes Howard and Neola Holcomb; and nephew who was like a brother, Eldon Howard.

Survivors are: wife Jeanette Kamery; sons, Doug Kamery and his wife, Pat, of Haxtun, Colo., and Johnie Kamery and his wife, Buffi, of Minden; daughter, Darla Deckert and her husband, Kyle, of Lincoln, KS.; grandchildren, Maylee, Mattie, Jennifer, Miranda, Melissa and Jake; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Donna Vancura and her husband, Edwin, of Ord.
