Freda was the daughter of Charles Beckman and Bertha Schultz. Her siblings were John G., Emma, Elizabeth,Edna, Ella, Edwin/Edward, Alma, Sophie, and Mary Elowina Beckman.

She married Richard Matthew Donaho about 1927. Their children were Richard John, Arnold Lee and Ellarene S Donaho.

Freda died in an automobile accident. Her death certificate has the wrong birth date recorded on it and also shows her middle name as Emma.
