Alma Kruse passed away Monday, February 7, 2011 at the age of 92. She was born in Tivoli , Texas on January 1, 1919 to the late Charles and Bertha Schultz Beckman. She married Kennie Kruse Sr. on November 20, 1941 and to this union three children were born. Mr. Kruse passed away in December, 1994. They were farmers in the Da Costa area, as well as living in the Mission Valley area for 10 years.

She is survived by her two daughters and one son: Jeri (Evart) King of Bloomington, Jeanette (Edward) Matula of Victoria, and Kennie Kruse Jr. of Victoria; six grandchildren, Clifford (Terri) King of Cheyenne, WY, Bryan (Nikki) King of Chicago, IL, Chad (Marcy) King of Victoria, Kim (Roger) Kurtz of Victoria, Edward (Brenda) Matula Jr. of Victoria, David (Cristy) Matula of Mineral Wells, TX; twelve great grandchildren, Shannon King, Kellie King, Cody King, and Brooke King all of Cheyenne, WY, Sofia and Bryan Richard King of Chicago, Kaylyn King, Cora King, Whitney Kurtz, Wyatt Kurtz, Elizabeth Matula, and Gregory Matula, all of Victoria.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Michael Matula; seven sisters, Freda (Richard) Donaho, Betty (Ed) Pahmiyer, Edna (Emil) Svec-Pohl, Emma (Albert) Erekson, Ella (John) Beck, Sophia (John) Beck, Mary (Oscar) Kraatz Sr.; two brothers, John (Oleta) Beckman and Bill (Ann) Beckman. Alma is the last of Charles and Bertha's children to pass away.

She was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church , and was also a member of the Esther Circle of First English Lutheran Church .

The Family would like to thank Shiner Nursing and Rehab for the wonderful care they gave our Mom for the last 15 years. We also want to thank Dr. Ralph Wagner and staff as well as Accolade Hospice.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Barney Matocha officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or charity of donor's choice.
