Son of Leonard Dryman who was killed during the Civil War & Nancy Alexander Dryman who died two years later. Bill and his sister Nancy were sent to live with their grandfather Ratcliff Boon on his plantation. We have no record of where the rest of the Dryman children were sent.

Bill's first wife was Minda Godfrey, they had three children, Alta, Lee & Lake. They made their home in Whitfield Georgia until Minda's death.

After she passed away (between 1895-1900) he moved to Tennessee to be closer to his sister Nancy. I believe the children lived with various family members.

After moving to Roane County he met & married Minnie Kirkland & had two more children, Mary & Donald Blaine Dryman. His second wife died just 6 years after their marriage leaving him with the two small children. Bill was a fur dealer & spent lots of time away so the children were sent to live with Minnie's sister in Harriman.
