My great-great grandfather, Leonard Dryman enlisted in the Confederate Army at Columbia, South Carolina on January 18, 1862. He was a private in Co F of the 22nd Regiment South Carolina Volunteers Infantry under Captain William K. Stuart.

Leonard was listed as thirty six years of age (birth date wasn't included in Military record), blue eyes, red hair and a fair complexion, he was five feet and six inches tall and a farmer born in Pickens County, South Carolina.

Leonard served along with his cousins, William Harrison Alexander & Joseph G. Alexander, brothers.

On August 7, 1863 Leonard died from wounds he received in the battle of Jackson, Mississippi.

No record has been found to locate exact burial place. It is assumed he was buried in a mass grave in Jackson County, Mississippi.
