The funeral of Francesco Sormanti, 84, of 17 Tiber Street, will be conducted tomorrow at 8 a.m. from the Thomas Gattone & Son Home, 334 Broadway, with a requiem high Mass in Holy Ghost Church at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
Mr. Sormanti, widower of Angela (Cocuzzoli) Sormanti, died Saturday at the Riverview Convalescent Home in West Warwick. Born in Ceprano, province of Rome, Italy, July 23, 1866, he was the son of the late Luigi and Raffaela (Zaccardi) Sormanti. He came to this country in 1899 and was one of the first Italian settlers in Providence.
Survivors are five sons, Arduino, John, Joseph, Albert, and Alfred Sormanti; two daughters, Mrs. Albert Bove and Mrs. Alfonso Carbone; two sisters, Miss Maria Sormanti and Mrs. Luigi Battista, all of Providence; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
