AMERICUS — Mrs. Edna Kate McMath Bullard, 82, passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 30, 2010, at her residence, 507 Varsity Drive. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, from the graveside with the Rev. Robert Orr and the Rev. William Hall officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the family residence, 507 Varsity Drive.
Mrs. Bullard was born Jan. 3, 1928, in Ellaville, Ga., the daughter of the late John David Hodge and Mildred Parks Hodge. She worked for Manhattan Shirt Co. for many years as a seamstress; she was a member of the Garden Club and Sunshine Club until her health failed her and she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bullard is survived by her beloved husband James A. Bullard of Americus, three daughters and a son-in-law, Bonnie Mizell of Dothan, Ala., B.J. Gore of Midland City, Ala., and Sherrie Orr and Robert of Richland, Ga.; a son Dorsey Roland McMath of Americus; sister and brother-in-law, Anne White and Bennie of Americus. Also surviving are five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bullard was preceded in death by two sisters, Nadine Fowler and Gladys Wilson; two sons, William David McMath and William Tolson McMath Jr.; grandson John Daniel Taunton and a great-grandson Christopher David Orr.
