He was at the Old Soldiers Reunion on Aug. 9, 1912 in Heber Springs Arkansas, Cleburne County. He was in Union Co A, 48th Ky. Inf. He gave his address as Madelia Arkansas North of Quitman. He was 85 years old at the time. Loose papers at the Cleburne County Courthouse said he went to Chaffee, Scott County Missouri when he became ill. He received nursing care there by W.T. Daughtry, MD there were claims against his estate for nursing care for a burial shroud and coffin and a $5 charge for transporting his body back to Van Buren County Arkansas. He was buried at Fairbanks Cemetery Van Buren County.
