Lena F. (Lombard) Galligan widow of Daniel E. Galligan passed away this morning at her home 39 Granite Street. She had been in ill health for the past eight weeks. Mrs. Galligan was a native of Taunton, the daughter of the late Richard and Ellen Lombard. She had been an attendant at St. Joseph Church for the past 16 years and formerly attended St. Mary's Church. Mrs. Galligan was a woman of excellent character and had many friends throughout the city. She leaves three daughters, the Misses Katherine and Abbie Galligan and Mrs. William J. Hoye and one son Charles D. Galligan all of Taunton. She also leaves four sisters, Mrs. John Gough, Mrs. Patrick Brady, and Mrs. Michael Tonry all of Taunton and Mrs. Richard Noonan of Mobely, MO. The funeral will be held on Tuesday morning at her late residence 39 Granite Street followed by a high mass of requiem at St. Joseph Church.

The funeral of Lena F. Galligan was held this morning from her late residence 39 Granite Street and was followed by a high mass celebrated at St. Joseph Church by Rev. Fr. John Quirk. Many relatives and friends of the deceased were in attendance and the floral tributes were many. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery. Bearers were Thomas King, Joseph O'Donnell, Robert Robinson, Richard Tonry, James Smith and Michael Tonry.
