William J. Hoye, age 24, a locomotive fireman living at 5 Agricultural Avenue, married Lena F. Galligan, age 25, living at 20 Myrtle Street. He was born in Taunton, the son of Patrick and Mary A. (Roark) Hoye. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of Daniel E. and Lena F. (Lombard) Galligan.

This morning at St. Joseph's Church at 7 a.m., the marriage of Miss Lena F. Galligan of Myrtle Street and William J. Hoye of Agricultural Avenue took place before a large gathering of relatives and friends. The marriage ceremony which occurred before the mass was performed by the Rev. Father J. P. Doyle, curate of the church.
The bride wore a charming costume of dark blue silk, trimmed with white allover lace and wore a picture hat of light blue. She carried a bouquet of bride's roses. Miss Katherine Galligan, a sister of the bride, was the bridesmaid, and wore a gown of dark blue broadcloth and hat to match. The best man was Frederick Hoye of New Bedford, a cousin of the groom.
Immediately after the wedding ceremony, the happy couple were driven to the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Lena Galligan, on Myrtle Street where the wedding repast was served to the guests.
Both the bride and groom are well known and very popular in Catholic social circles. Miss Galligan has held a responsible position with the Taunton Pearl Works on Vernon Street for several years. Mr. Hoye is a prominent member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and the C.T.A. & A. Society, and is a fireman in the employ of the New York, New Haven & Hartford railroad. Their host of friends remembered them with many handsome wedding gifts.
Mr. and Mrs. Hoye left on an early train on their honeymoon which will be spent in New York City. On their return from their honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Hoye will reside on Agricultural Avenue.

Mrs. Lena F. (Galligan) Hoye, 88 of 175 Highland Street, widow of William J. Hoye, died at her home Friday morning after a lengthy illness. Born in Taunton, daughter of the late Daniel and Lena (Lombard) Galligan, she was educated in Taunton schools and had been a life-time resident of this city. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and was a member of Queen's Daughters. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Edward F. (Helena M.) Kennedy and Mrs. Edward J. (Marion B.) Harraghy, both of Taunton, and Mrs. John F. (Elizabeth G.) Scanlon of Sandwich, and five grandchildren.
