He was born March 18, 1934 in Fayette, Utah to Charles Franklin Olsen and Claretta Pearl Hill. He married Janet Beardall November 19, 1958, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
His is survived by his wife Janet Beardall Olsen and three children: Mrs. Thomas (Karen) Crabb of Orem; Mrs. Larry (Susan) Shaw of Houston, TX; and Scott Darwing Olsen of Salt Lake City; six grandchildren; his five brothers, Ken Olsen of Orem; Lee Olsen of Salt Lake City; Ben Olsen of Springville; Don Olsen of Orange, CA; and Jim Olsen of Salt Lake City.
Burial was October 28, 1992.
