A veteran of the Revolution. From "The Munson Record", he resided in New Haven CT ; New Milford from 1763 to 1774. Newbury (now Brookfield) and owned property in Kent CT. About 1782 he moved to Pownal VT with his family and operated the Munson tavern, which stood near where the Pownal elementary school is today. He and his wife Sarah Bishop had 10 children. His second wife was also named Sarah; both are buried near him. He and his first wife are included in the family bible records found in their daughter Sarah Munson Ovaitt's pension record S24376
