Charles William Kannengiesser is buried near his half brother Albert Edward. Born to Jane Fairbrother Kannengiesser and her husband Otto, Charles moved to rural Marion County with his father and young siblings following his mother's death in his birth city, London, Ontario. His dad's parents and siblings were near Marion, as was the family of his mother's brother John Lardner Fairbrother. His father married John's widow and his cousins became his step siblings. Charles either drown or was overcome with gas when attempting to clean the family's well. Since he was the lightest, he had been lowered into the well, and he was not breathing when he was pulled out. His brother also met an early death.
