BILLY DAVE SMITH
MCCRORY, AR Mr. Billy Dave Smith, age 80, of McCrory, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at his home. Mr. Smith was born on January 8, 1932 in Woodruff County to Dave and Ida Edwards Smith. He attended McCrory Schools and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Billy Dave was married on January 10, 1951 to the former Helen Reeves who survives. He was a devoted and loyal husband to his beautiful wife for 61 years. During their life together, Billy Dave was employed by Inland Steel in Indiana and retired there after 33 years of service. They moved back to McCrory where Bill enjoyed fishing, collecting pictures of old barns, going to estate sales, and collecting antique cars. Survivors include his wife, Helen of the home; two daughters: Deborah Jean (Mark) Krizman of Indianapolis, IN, and Sharon Melissa (Chuck) Cathey of Benton, AR; one brother, Bobby Joe (Carolyn) Smith of Olive Branch, MS; one sister, Peggy (Odie) Stutts; and two grandchildren: Alex Krizman and Olivia Cathey. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Donald "Bug" Smith; and infant sister, Betty Jean Smith. Visitation will be 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in McCrory, Bro. Galen Mason officiating. Interment Woodman Cemetery with Thompson-Wilson Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. The family has requested memorials to be sent to the Nazarene Church of McCrory c/o Boyce and Pat Brown, McCrory, AR.
