HELEN REEVES SMITH
BRYANT, AR Helen Reeves Smith, resident of Fox Ridge Estates in Bryant, Arkansas and former resident of McCrory, died Saturday, October 19, 2013. She was 80 years of age. Visitation was from 10:00- 11:00 AM Monday, October 21, 2013 followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM both at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of McCrory. Brother Galen Mason, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene was the officiating minister. Interment was in Woodman Cemetery with Thompson-Wilson Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Helen was born in McCrory on April 2, 1933 to Tom and Genora McCue Reeves. She was a graduate of McCrory High School and was a homemaker and shared 61 wonderful years of marriage with Billy Dave Smith, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Helen was a devout Christian and lifelong member of the McCrory First Church of the Nazarene where she served as the church secretary for 20 years. She also taught Sunday School and was active in the choir. Mrs. Helen loved to sew, crochet, bake and read as well as visiting Branson, Missouri with her husband, Bill. Survivors include two daughters and their husbands: Sharon and Chuck Cathey of Benton, Debbie and Mark Krizman of Indianapolis, IN; two sisters: Florence Burton of Brinkley and Joyce Ball of McCrory; one granddaughter, Olivia Cathey of Benton; and Alex Krizman of Muncie, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents: Tom and Genora Reeves; husband, Billy Dave Smith; sister, Louise Brogdon; and brother, Johnny Reeves.
