A beloved uncle, brother and friend, Lloyd Ralph Westberry was born on September 29, 1907, the first son of 8 children born to James Ancil Westberry (b. December 28, 1888, d. March 15, 1974) and Lura Elizabeth Butler Westberry (b. April 21, 1890, d. June 17, 1927). He married Wilbur "Billie" Irene Hammond (b. September 23, 1912, d. May 8, 1992) on April 8, 1932 in Ft. Lauderdale, Broward Co., Florida. They made their home for many years in Miami, Florida and shortly after retirement as a warehouse manager for Schlitz and Old Milwaukee they moved to Lake Placid, Florida and resided there for 22 years until his passing. Lloyd was a WWII veteran as a non-commissioned officer who was responsible for ammunition. He supervised the requisition, procurement, and distribution of ammunition for anti-aircraft automatic weapons in France. He also directed the loading and unloading of ammunition, established ammunition dumps, maintained stock levels, kept inventories and prepared the appropriate records. During retirement, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening and entertaining friends in their home. At the time of his death he was survived by 4 brothers, 1 sister, 3 half sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Lloyd died on April 20, 1989 and buried alongside his loving wife of 57 years at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid, Florida. Uncle Lloyd and Aunt Billie raised Douglas Bruce Westberry most of his early childhood. Although he is the son of Robert Bruce Westberry and Betty Conway Westberry due to major family issues with Doug's birth parents, Uncle Lloyd and Aunt Billie took care of Doug since they did not have children of their own.
