KEESEVILLE — Louise Connor, 79, of Keeseville, N.Y., passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Louise Hemming on Aug. 4, 1932, in Patterson, N.J., daughter of George and Ethel Hemming. She joined her beloved husband, Edward "Crip" Connor, in matrimony on June 22, 1942, in Fort Bragg, N.C., encompassing a devoted life as a military wife and mother.

In 1991, after retiring, Lou and her husband moved to their home in Keeseville, where Lou became a proud parishioner of the Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene. Her continuous and very active involvement with her parish brought her to serve as the head steward for the Church Advisory Board. She readily opened the doors to her home for many gatherings, and hosted weekly Bible studies for the members of her church. Her strong family values and nurturing ways were recognized with the Caregiver of the Year award in 2004.

Lou is survived by three daughters, Roselee Studt of Bloomfield, N.J., Theresa Connor Smith and husband Keith of Fort Bragg, Texas, Janet Littlefield and husband Bob of Keeseville, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren, Robert Studt and wife Christa, Shawn Penso and Edward Kraus, Vicki Lynn Studt, Robert Littlefield Jr., Robyn Riggins and husband Jason, Christina King and husband Mike, and Rachel Gilbert; five great-grandchildren, Amanda Studt, Carly Studt, Logan King, Izabella Littlefield and Briley Riggins.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward Connor Jr., on May 11, 2009. Lou will always be loved and remembered for her compassionate, kind and lifting spirit, as well as for the deep love she had for her church.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court St., Plattsburgh.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Keeseville, N.Y.

Interment will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, N.Y.

Donations in her memory may be made to Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene.
