Geneva Avenal Miller was born one of six children on September 2, 1924 in Waveland, Arkansas and passed away on November 17, 2004 in Grants Pass , Oregon. She was 80.
Mrs. Miller was a resident of Merced for 65 years and moved to Grants Pass, Oregon 3 years ago. On August 16, 1941 she married Shellie Lee Miller in Merced, CA. She was the administrator for Beverly Enterprises for 20 years. During her time in Merced, Mrs. Miller was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church, she was also a member of the Parkway Christian Center in Grants Pass. She served as the director of the Central California Women's Missionary Council of the Assembly of God. She enjoyed singing and writing songs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shellie Miller on February 3, 1997, parents; Henry and Amy Poe, brothers; Henry Poe Jr., Roger Poe, Leland Poe, and R.C. Poe.
She is survived by her two sons; Darrel Lee Miller of Grants Pass and Ronnie Dale Miller of Crescent City, Ca, a sister, Norma May of Atwater, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 19, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
