Bert was born at Libby, Montana the son of Gladys (Friend) and Samuel J. Benedetti. At the age of 4 he, with his parents moved to Sunnyside. Bert graduated from SHS with the class of 1943, following graduation he attended barber college. In 1949 Bert enter the US Army, he married Alice Johnson on April 2, 1949 . After completing his military service he reutned to Sunnyside where he continued to barber with his father.
