**JUST COULDN'T GET ALONG WITH WIFE, SO HE TOOK ANOTHER**
(Special in The News and Observer)
Lenoir, July 11.--Charged with the wilful [sic] abandonment of the woman, to whom he had taken the marital vow to love, honor and keep, and said charge being superinduced by a more serious one, that of a too intimate relation with another woman. Tom Church, a former native of Ashe county was arrested in Gastonia a few days ago, and on yesterday was brought to Lenoir, where he took lodging for the night with Jailer Will Bush. Church left Ashe county some four years ago with another man's wife and since that time has been sojourning at Salisbury, Gastonia and other sections of the State.
Only recently the whereabouts of this man was ascertained and he was at once arrested. A deputy sheriff from Ashe county went down to Gastonia Wednesday for him and he was brought here on yesterday, where he was lodged in the jail over night. The prisoner was carried to Jefferson this morning by Sheriff Triplett in an automobile.
Church says that he was not able to get along with his wife over in Ashe, and that he "just left her." He was living with the other woman in Gastonia as man and wife, and is said to have two to three children by her.
