Ventura was a single guy until April 1956 when he married Delia Corona, the daughter of Adolph Corona and Elizabeth Chaboya. With this marriage he became an instant father to Delia's children from her first marriage to Victor Moreno Silvas, and both a grandfather and great grandfather as the years went on.

Castro; husband of the late Cecelia Castro; loving step-father of Ray Silvas, Sr., John Silvas, Mary Orr and Florence Camacho, all of Stockton, Margaret Mendez of Fresno, Lucille Barrios of Red Bluff; loving brother of Lucille Davis, of San Leandro and Marian Castro of Firebaugh, Loving step-grandfather of Ray Silvas, Jr., of Sacramento and Great-step-grandfather of Beverly Silvas and Brian Silvas both of Foster City. A native of Firebaugh, Ca. Aged 75 years. Friends are invited to attend rosary services at the DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St., Sunday July 11, at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Gertrude's Church, Monday, July 12 at 9am. Funeral will leave the DeYoung Chapel, Monday at 8:30am. Visitation hours from 8am to 9pm. Committal at San Joaquin Cemetery.
