She was married to Thomas B. Vanarsdall on November 9th, 1882, and established her home in Meadville, Mo. To this union five children were born. Since the death of her husband eleven years ago, she had made her home with her two daughters, Mrs. G. O. Sallee of Meadville, and Mrs. R. T. Patterson of Laclede. She was converted when young and united with the Christian Church, later placing her membership with the Church of Christ at Pleasant Point, and continued living a Christian life until the end. Her great desire was to be of service to her family. Two of her children, a daughter and a son, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. G. O. Sallee and Mrs. R. T. Patterson, and one son, W. K. Vanarsdall of Elgin, Ill.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; some nieces and nephews; and a host of friends, as she counted all her acquaintances as friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the home of G. O. Sallee on Sunday afternoon by Bro. W. E. Ballenger of Kansas City. Interment was made in the Meadville cemetery." The Meadville Messenger (Meadville, Missouri), October 28, 1937
