Hans George Sr, was a son of Andreas Ilgenfritz & Rosina Morgenroth, who married Maria Apollonia in Germany before 1728.

Hans was born in Wornitz, which is located about 37 miles southwest of the city of Nurnberg, and 15 miles southwest of the town of Ansbach. This section of what was formerly known as West Germany, is now called Barvaria. When Johann and Maria were residents there in the 1700's, it was called Middle Franconia. Hans was christened on December 7, 1702 in Evan. Luth. Church, Pfarrant, Wornitz, Germany.

Hans George came to America, along with wife Marie Apollonia and son John George on the ship, "Charming Nancy", and took the Oath of Allegiance to King George II on October 8, 1737. The ship traveled along the Rhine river, which runs into the Waal river that flows to the city of Rotterdam. From there, the Charming Nancy headed to Plymouth and then landed in Philadelphia, PA, and carried 105 men, 25 boys and 107 women and girls.

Hans and Maria settled in Dover Twp. Lancaster (York) Co. PA and their two younger children were probably born there. The Dover Township was formed in 1749, and is drained by the Great Conewago Creek in the north, and the Little Conewago Creek in the southeast.

Hans' will was probated October 13, 1750 in York Co. PA. He signed name in German ( Johann Georg Ilgafritz ). His name appears as George, Hans George, Johan George Iliafritz Elefritz, Ilgafritz. depending on who wrote the name. The name is likely compounded of Elgan(t)Fritz and means Dandy, elegant or elite Frederick.

Hans George was buried in October 1749, Dover Township, York County, Pennsylvania. The exact location of his burial is unknown as of 2/23/2012.
