AFTON — Ruth Brown Weeks of RD 1, Afton, went to be with her Lord on March 26, 1986 at 3 p.m at the Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, after a long illness.

She was born on March 27, 1900 in Unadilla, the daughter of William and Onelia (Woods) Brown. She was the wife and widow of Arthur Weeks and was pre-deceased by two sons, Raymond and William Weeks.

She retired from Bendix (Allied) Corporation in Sidney She also taught in rural schools in the area for a short time She was a member of the North Afton United Methodist Church and a member of the U M W of the church. She enjoyed her family and; for many years, made afghans for them.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Lillian and Veto Baciuska, with whom she resided in Afton, Eunice ant Thomas Egnazcak of Guilford, and Madaline and Richard Overby of Rochester, New York; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family received friends at the Dorothy Memorial Home, 121 Main Street, Afton on March 27, 1986 from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral was held on Friday March 28 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Fred Albrecht of the North Afton United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be at a later date in the Nineveh Cemetery in Nineveh. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Nick E. Ferrentelli and Robert Ashley and the Dorothy Memorial Home.
