Funeral Services were conducted June 9 at Wiederspahn Chapel of the Chimes in Cheyenne for Campbell County native Norma Lucille Palmer.
Mrs. Palmer died Friday, June 3, 1994, at her home in Davis Calif. fo cancer. Burial was in Memorial Gardens in Cheyenne. She was 74.
She was born Sept. 2, 1919, to Riley A. and Alice (Hall) Elliott, at the Family homestead 10 miles southwest of Gillette. She attended rural schools in Campbell County and graduated from Campbell County High School in 1938.
She married Harry L. Palmer of Burns on Feb. 28, 1942. He was called into military service almost immediately and they lived at military posts until he was called to the front in Europe. She then returned to Gillette with her infant daughter.
After World War II, he remained with the National Guard and advanced to commander of the National Guard Post at Camp Guernsey, where they lived for many years. After he retired, they lived in Cheyenne, and later moved to California.
Mrs. Palmer was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by two sons , Harry L. "Rusty" Palmer of Jackson and Larry D. "Corky" Palmer of Chantilly, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Sherry DeFond of Cheyenne and Mrs. Kate Scott of Davis, Calif.; four grandsons and one great-grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Cooper of Gillette and Mrs. Thelma Joslyn of Newcastle and numerous nephews and nieces.
