Heart attack claims life
George Allen Elliott, 66 a former resident of Campbell County and long time resident of Cokeville, died Jan. 18 at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah following a heart attack.
He was born July 16, 1906 at Charleston, Ill. and came to Campbell County with his parents when nine years old. he attended rural schools and graduated from Campbell County High School in 1924. He attended the University of Wyoming and was a graduate of the University of Utah.
He was married to Miss Jessie Etcheverry of Border on Aug. 5, 1934. He taught in the Cokeville city council for 24 years and was city clerk at the time of his death.
He is survived by his widow, Jessie; one son George A. Elliott Jr. of Salt Lake City; four daughters, Miss Michele Elliott of Omaha, Neb. , Mrs. Keyes (Carol) Townsend of Anchorage, Alaska, Mrs. John (Marie) Wilson of Loveland Colo., and Miss Elaine Elliott at home; four grandchildren and one brother, Harry Elliott of Sheridan.
Also surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Oran (Ethel) Cooper of Gillette, Mrs. Gladys Donaldson and Mrs. Thelma Joslyn of Newcastle, Mrs. Harry (Norma) Palmer of Cheyenne and Mrs. James (Alice) Boyd of Dallas, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley A. and Alice Elliott.
Rosary was recited from the Matthews Funeral Home chapel at Montpelier, Idaho on Jan. 22. Requiem Mass was celebrated at the Catholic Church in Cokeville on Jan. 23, with burial following in the Cokeville cemetery.
Those attending the last rites from this area were Mrs. Oran Cooper of Gillette; Mrs. Gladys Donaldson and Mrs. Thelma Joslyn of Newcastle, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Palmer of Cheyenne
